What we do
Parts of Downham are found in the London Borough of Lewisham and it only started to become a residential area post-1920. During the 1920s the area was chosen as a place to build accommodation to help tackle the growing problem of overcrowding, which is when Downham Estate was established. The arrival of these residential properties also led to the construction of a number of amenities, which are still present today. These include Downham Health Clinic, Beckenham Palace Park Recreational Area and Downham Library. The area is also home to several schools, including Bonus Pastor Catholic College and Launcelot Primary School.
