Visiting St Helier
St Helier is residential cottage estate part of the London Boroughs of Merton and Sutton. The nearest places to the area are Morden, Rosehill, Sutton Common, Mitcham, Sutton, Benhilton and Wallington. The estate was built by the London County Council in the period 1928-1936 and was named after Lady St Helier, who was LLC alderman between 1910 and 1927. The estate was part of a series of cottage estates, together with the Becontree-Dagenham estate. The area is situated close to the St Helier hospital. St Helier is served by a number of London bus routes. The estate is home to Bishop Andrewes Church which was designed by Geddes Hyslop.
