Cheap and Easy Christmas Decoration Ideas
No need to spend all your money on Christmas decorations! Christmas is the time of the year when you spend lots of money on presents so you can save some cash by creating your own Christmas decorations. Decorations can be created rather than bought, especially if you have a knack for the DIY inventions. You can save lots of money by making your own décor instead of dumping items in the waste disposal heap. There are so many things around your home that you’d think are better off in the rubbish disposal bin, but then again, when did you bother to think about how you could incorporate them into the décor? Here are some ideas to stimulate your imagination.
1. Acorns
Acorns should be in abundance ever since autumn. If you have kids, then you are bound to find one acorn per day every time you and your kid have an outing. So instead of organising a waste clearance, you can take the acorns and put them to good use. String them together, hang them up over the windows and you have an excellent Christmas decoration.
2. Paper
Surely you have a variety of used paper lying about the house – either your kid’s drawings, or used mail, or old gift wrappings, or leftovers from gift wrappings. Use all that paper to make figurines, or string them together and make paper chains as hanging ornaments. And all the leftovers can go for rubbish removal. Why waste perfectly usable colourful paper and spend money on decorations? Be smart as well as creative!
3. Old Christmas Cards
Don’t forget about your old Christmas cards, find the box of memories and take them out. They can be put to good use as well. Christmas cards can make a good collage, or a mosaic picture, or they can be used as a painting themselves. Christmas cards can take the space next to the fireplace, or take a special place on the table. You can even decorate the Christmas tree with them or make a paper tree out of them, if you are creative enough. 
4. Tree Leaves
If you have a garden and you have at least one tree outside, then surely you have some leaves lying about. No matter whether they are old and withered or still struggling to be green, gather them up and add them to your hanging decorations, or under a painting. Keep away from fire, of course, but you can even place them on the windows and enjoy the nice scenery it gives both from inside and outside. This gives you some stimulus for garden clearance as well!
5. Old Clothes
Surely you can get an idea or two about what to do with old clothes, right? Get something you won’t wear anymore, but are loath to send it for rubbish disposal. Pick up the scissors and put them to good use so that you can create the decorations you want. Enjoy the atmosphere you create out of familiar objects with the least amount of hassle. Forget about your waste removal chores when you can recycle your rubbish with ease!
