What Bermondsey Has To Offer
Bermondsey is a district in the London Borough of Southwark which covers the SE16, SE1 and E1 postcode areas. Situated on the south bank of the River Thames, it has excellent riverside restaurants and bars that are dotted along the 3.5 mile waterfront and is considered to be an area that is growing in popularity. With its own tube stop on the Jubilee Line, it has excellent links to the centre and is in zone 2 of London’s transport districts. Property prices here tend to be above the London average and are expected to grow steadily in line with its rise in popularity. The surrounding areas include London Bridge, Canada Water, Rotherhithe, Southwark, Monument and Tower Hill, making this a great spot for seeing some of London’s popular sights. Tower Bridge is just one stop away on the tube, while the Bermondsey antiques market is a great spot for finding a bargain. Historically, the area was also known for its strong industrial links and has seen much redevelopment following the decline in river trade. Some of the waterfront properties here are now some of the most expensive in London and are very sought after areas to live.
