Hornsey – North London’s Inner Suburbia
Hornsey, based in the London Borough of Haringey, situated in North London, comes under the postcode of N8. Based as inner suburbia, it is around 10 miles north of Charing Cross. Surrounding areas include Crouch End, Wood Green, Turnpike Lane, as well as Muswell Hill, Turnpike Lane and Stroud Green, Southgate and Alexandra Park. To the south west of the high street, lies Priory Park, a beautiful green open space that most of Hornsey’s residents actually enjoy. The boundaries of Hornsey ironically are not clearly defined and a lot of it actually comes under Haringey, as well as Crouch End and Muswell Hill. The high street has a range and number of shops and restaurants. On the north side of the high street, is a public bath and wash house which is now abandoned and has been petitioned to be turned into an independent art centre by locals. The closest transport links to Hornsey are Turnpike Lane Tube Station, based on the Piccadilly line and the nearest railway stations are based in Crouch End, Haringey and Hornsey Central.
