The Former Ancient Village Of Monken Hadley
Walk through Monken Hadley and you’d think of an ancient village settlement, not a suburban development situated in the nation’s capital. But that’s what Monken Hadley is. Located in the London Borough of Barnet, Monken Hadley has still retained much of its rural characteristics. The charming little cottages make the area seem a world away from the capital. The parish church of St Mary the Virgin is an iconic building in the area – its interior has been constructed out of Victorian woodwork furniture, and it is still standing relatively intact after 800 years.
