What we do
Lower Clapton has plenty to keep you entertained!
Lower Clapton, part of Greater London, is situated in the London Borough of Hackney. Its postcode district is E5 as the area is close to regions such as Stamford Hill and Stoke Newington, that have postcode districts of E5, N15 and N16 respectively. Despite being situated in East London, this now socially diverse and multicultural area still retains many of its distinct features from the 19th Century, such as the beautifully constructed Victorian terraces and the Round Chapel Congregational Church, now a bustling arts centre. Surprisingly for a district in the city, the area has plenty of parks and open spaces, including old village greens and sports pitches for those with an active lifestyle. The Hackney marshes and Clapton Park provide a picture-esc setting for an afternoon walk and an idyllic location to enjoy a picnic or a spot of sunbathing during the summer. You can take a stroll along Chatsworth Road, where you will find the local market and can sample a range of cuisines from around the globe, or sit in a coffee shop or the creperie for a quick snack.
