Discover Bartley Green
Bartley Green is a residential area that is situated in lively Birmingham. The original name of the ward was thought to have been Berchelai which translates to Birch Tree Wood or The Clearing in the Birch Trees. After the Second World War, more housing, both council and private, was built in the area and so there were more permanent residents. There is a famous reservoir in Bartley Green and it is known to be the place where Bill Oddie spent a lot of time bird and nature watching. Jane Bunford lived in the area until her death in 1922. She was the tallest person ever to have lived in the UK.
