The Vast and Open Landscape of Woodcock Hill
Woodcock Hill in Birmingham is an area dominated by open woodland. In fact, its name is thought to be derived from a medieval game bird – a woodcock – that used to roam these parts. The wooded landscape extends for miles, but over the decades, a few houses started to be built, business began to operate in the area – some signs of civilisation became apparent. The Woodcock Hill Primary School is situated in stunning surroundings in the local area and is one of the best in the West Midlands, helping to put Woodcock Hill on the map. Bartley Reservoir and Senneleys Park are located close to the area.
