What we do
Gidea Park Life
Whilst it is part of the east London Borough of Havering, Gidea Park is part of the Romford post code area RM, and is sometimes known as Romford Garden Suburb, which makes it a little confusing to understand if you are new to the area. From 1910 to 1911 the Garden suburb was designed and built as part of a competition between architects as to who could develop the best town plan. This led to a whole suburb being developed, and the area is still populated today, following the successful footsteps of the Hampstead Garden Suburb. The area had a railway station built at the same time, and is serviced by both Gidea Park station and Romford station, which give perfect access to the wider London area as well as the rest of the country. Nearby areas include Romford, Ardleigh Gardens, Gallows corner and Hornchurch, which are all excellent places to visit. This makes Gidea Park a perfect place to settle in proximity to London, especially if you are interested in the history of architecture and urban development, as many of the original Garden suburb houses are now listed buildings.
