What You Need to Know about Edgbaston?
Edgbaston is located in central Birmingham, around the southwest part of the city centre. The area is bordered by Winson Green, Moseley and Smethwick. The district is home to the University of Birmingham. The area includes the smaller Edgbaston ward, Herborne, Quinton and Bartley Green. J. R. R. Tolkien lived in the suburb. It is considered that Perrot’s Folly and Waterworks Tower have inspired some parts of The Lord of the Rings novel. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts contains a variety of art pieces from Picasso and other masters. There are several churches on the territory of the area, including St Augustine’s Church and St George Church.
